Apparently, this woman “Chaya Suri” is acting. In what is fast becoming a viral youtube hit, she parodies an extreme Chassidishe view of “Jewish modesty”—tsinyus—by telling the story of her shvimpkleid (long, modest swim dress) through perfect Yiddish idioms and stereotypical chassidish inflections. What follows are parodies of the parody. If you get the religious terminology, this is some good Jewish humor (if you don’t mind a few laughs on the Chassidishe community’s expense).
