“DOOR OF HANDS”
The work of Brazilian visual artist Michel Groisman combines visual art, the human body and everyday materials like water, candles and playing cards. CAFÉ EUROPA: PORTRAITS IN BLACK AND WHITE

Photographer Barbara Mack looks deep into the faces and lives of Holocaust survivors who participate in the social and educational group Café Europa. Some subjects pose with cherished objects from their past — like John Gordon, holding in his hands a cut-glass goblet; and Sophie Hamburger, appearing with a garment she wore when she escaped a death march — adding to the personal narrative. PHRANC AND PETER CASE
The self-described “all-American Jewish lesbian folk singer” performs opposite Case, a Grammy-nominated folk singer-songwriter, as part of downtown’s Grand Performances series.
