Every statement Donald Trump has ever made
is based on facts that are no less reliable
than the offensiveness of odors of flowers when they fade,
with a bad fragrance that is undeniable.

These Trumpy testaments are just as unviable
as literature that is as apocryphal preserved,
demanding that they be considered as no less biable
than the Bible, from whose straight lines he seems to have swerved.

Whether or not he will be for his offenses triable
will depend on Congress and the US Supreme Court,
though he will surely regard its verdict as defiable,
when his regime is by time, not truthfulness, cut short.

I am writing this while life’s more summery
than a winter that I fear is sadly liable
to follow its departure, and this poetic summary
of a political life with what is a misanthropic libel.
