An Arab-Israeli truck driver who slammed into cars and pedestrians on a main thoroughfare in Tel Aviv in a suspected terror attack has been indicted for murder.
Issa Islam Ibrahim, 22, of the Arab-Israeli town of Kfar Kassem, killed one man and wounded 17 other people on May 15, the day observed by Palestinians as Nakba Day, which mourns the establishment of the State of Israel.
Ibrahim hit buses, cars and pedestrians during his two-mile suspected terror spree. He told police that a flat tire caused him to lose control of his truck.
Ibrahim was indicted Thursday in Tel Aviv District Court for murder, attempted murder, endangering human lives in a transportation lane, inflicting aggravated injury and aggravated assault with intent to harm. He will remain in prison until the end of judicial proceedings against him.
