“What is Life Worth?”

Determine how much a man's life - and death - are WORTH? The man who did this for the 9/11 families!

Try to imagine a national tragedy has just occurred: The Boston Marathon bombing, the Virginia Tech massacre, or even September 11th. While everyone is reeling from the devastation, imagine you get a phone call from the government, asking you to take on the task of determining what to pay out for each victim, and GETTING THE FAMILY MEMBERS TO AGREE to that price.

I would feel queasy at the mere thought of it. But it’s crucial, because family members DO need and deserve the money.

Kenneth Feinberg had spent his career being asked to do exactly that, for all three of the examples listed above, and many more.

His job, which he took on FOR FREE with 9/11 btw, was literally to determine how much each life was worth.

It was documented in the incredible Netflix movie “Worth,” starring one of my favorite actors, Michael Keaton.

Ken Feinberg has written a book about his experience, “What is Life Worth? The Unprecedented Effort to Compensate the Victims of 9/11” and I have the honor of receiving a personalized copy that I unbox and show you today. Watch my latest Spotlight.
