Join us this week for a warm, funny and enlightening conversation with Jamie Alcroft. Jamie is a legendary comedian in his own right, as well as half of the tremendously funny, successful and prolific comedy duo Mack & Jamie. They were a favorite at clubs, performed many times on “The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson” and had their own series “Comedy Break,” a hilarious comedy sketch and stand-up show where they even discovered and featured talents like Kevin Pollak and Jan Hooks.
Jamie’s talents branch out in many directions in addition to comedy. He is an author, a successful voiceover actor and a silversmith, creating beautiful silver jewelry and art pieces.
And Jamie has been through harrowing medical trials, being the fortunate recipient of a heart and liver transplant several years back. He penned the book “The Tin Man Diaries,” a reflection during the period where he was awaiting a donor’s heart.
This week Jamie, Mark and Lowell talk about Jamie’s early years, starting out as a radio DJ, unexpectedly being approached by Mack Dryden and forming their dynamic comedy duo, their experiences together and Jamie tells the story when he found out he needed a new heart.
Please find out more about Jamie’s work including his jewelry, his writing and his comedy.
