A United Nations peacekeeping force confirmed on April 25 that at least three of Hezbollah’s underground tunnels violate a ceasefire agreement with Israel.

The Times of Israel reports that over the past year, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has found several Hezbollah tunnels, alleging that the terror group is planning on using them to terrorize Israelis. The IDF confirmed that they destroyed six such tunnels in December.

The U.N. peacekeeping force, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), has confirmed that at least five of those tunnels existed, and three of those tunnels violated Resolution 1701, the ceasefire agreement Israel and Hezbollah came to at the end of the 2006 war between the two.

UNIFIL said that the three tunnels cross into the Blue Line, the area that delineates the border between Israel and Lebanon.

The IDF has warned that Hezbollah is plotting to launch an assault against northern Israel in the near future. A 2017 report from the High Level Military Report, which consists of former generals from various countries, concluded that a future war between Israel and Hezbollah “is a given” and will be “more violent and destructive than the previous ones.”
