Ha’Azinu — listen (Deuteronomy 32:1-52)
Listen –
Moses is about to sing a song
and up ’til now, he’s just been talking.
The times are changing and
all the kids are listening to music
so you’ll understand his format change.
Listen –
Moses is going out like a rock star.
Pay attention to the phrase going out.
It’s his last day on Earth.
It’s not an exaggeration.
Listen – closely …
It’s not a sing-along, but he is
expecting us to repeat after him.
He wants us to repeat these words
forever.
Listen –
All mistakes and triumphs are in these words.
Learn what you can because when he’s done
he’s exiting stage mountain.
There will be no encore.
Listen –
He really wants you to listen.
And so does the One with the
Unpronounceable Name.
The Source of all the words.
The One who gave you ears.
The one who invented the word
listen.
