More than 1,400 worshippers visited Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus in the West Bank.

The visit was approved and coordinated with the Israeli military.

Minister of International Affairs Eli Yishai, one of several public figures who visited the Jewish holy site, said: “It’s a huge privilege to be here. Joseph’s Tomb belongs to us. Of course we should resume full presence in Joseph’s Tomb. The current situation is a blunt violation of the Oslo Accords and that must be fixed. ”

“The visit here is important and I hope the impairments will be corrected. The answer to the Palestinian Authority is to act according to what we believe in,” Yishai added.

During the visit, a Palestinian began throwing rocks at Israeli soldiers that were securing the worshipers. The Palestinian was arrested by security forces. Some 13 Israelis attempting to enter the Tomb illegally were also arrested by the Israel Police.
