Goodfriend’s externship was partly funded by a grant from the university’s Diane and Guilford Glazer Institute for Jewish Studies’ Israel externship program. Congregation B’nai Emet in Simi Valley held its first Pet Parade on June 29. Rabbi Michele Paskow said a prayer for the pets, and animal behaviorist Jody Epstein helped solve some common behavioral problems and talked about good pet nutrition.
