JERUSALEM (JTA) — Rockets were fired from Gaza on southern Israel for two consecutive nights.

On Friday night, at least one rocket fired into Israel was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. No injury or damage was reported.

The Israel Defense Forces responded by striking what it called “Hamas’ underground infrastructure in Gaza. “

On Saturday night, Iron Dome intercepted two of three rockets fired at southern Israel. The third rocket landed in the yard of a home in the southern Israeli community of Sderot, causing some damage.

At least two Sderot residents were injured while running to bomb shelters, and at least three people were treated for acute anxiety attacks due to the rocket impact.

Later on Saturday night, three armed Palestinians were killed by Israeli troops as they attempted to infiltrate into Israel through the Gaza border fence. They were targeted by tank fire and a military helicopter.
