Singer Kelly Clarkson has released six versions of her new single “I Dare You,” one of them in Hebrew, a duet with Israeli singer Maya Buskila. Clarkson also recorded the song in English, French, Arabic, Spanish and German.

“This is my favorite/hardest project that I’ve ever worked on,” Clarkson said in a statement. “It has always been a dream of mine, as I grew up singing in different languages, to find that perfect song, with the perfect message, to connect us all globally and then record that song with several other artists around the world in their native languages.”

Titled “Bo Nire Otcha” in Hebrew, which translates as “Let’s See You,” the song was in the works for a year but recorded in four days, Clarkson told Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show.” She explained that she’d grown up singing opera in foreign languages but had no prior experience with Hebrew or Arabic.

Clarkson told Hoda Kotbe on “Today” that the song’s message was perfect for these pandemic times. “The message is ‘I dare you to love instead of fear, instead of hate.’ Even though we’re from different parts of the world with different religions, politics, whatever, we’re all the same human race,” she said. “We really are all connected.”
