Sharon Feldstein, Patsy Noah On Starting YourMomCares and Thier Famous Children

[additional-authors]

YourMomCares is an incredible non-profit organization created by Sharon Feldstein (mother to actors Jonah Hill and Beanie Feldstein) and Patsy Noah (mother to Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine).

In 2014, Feldstein and Noah were brought together by the White House along with other moms to do a PSA for the Affordable Care Act. Inspired by an amazing group of women and leaders involved and immediately recognizing the power in the “Your Mom Cares” concept, they received permission from the White House to take ownership of the brand. From there, Your Mom Cares was started.

With the help of other celebrity moms like Terria Joseph (Alicia Keys’ mom) and Joann Lacono (Jimmy Kimmel’s mom), YourMomCares works to expand the field of mental health and change the dialogue from mental illness to mental wellness for children and adolescents.

While YourMomCares is a fairly-new organization, it has already made strides in creating massive partnerships with The Children’s Health Fund and The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Its prospective nonprofit partners are vetted through a process of both research and relationship-building, ensuring that your gift to YMC is funding only the best, most trusted organizations. In turn, mental health services are provided regardless of a family’s financial situation, race, gender or sexual orientation.

One of the ways YourMomCares is raising awareness for its causes is through its beaded bracelets, which are comparable to Livestrong bracelets. These bracelets represent those who support mental wellness and act as a “badge of honor” for donors and supporters of their cause. Its mission is unique, as they are connecting with initiatives of all caliber.

I had the pleasure of speaking with both Sharon Feldstein and Patsy Noah by phone on Oct. 21 Among the topics discussed:

  • The mission of YourMomCares
  • What is ahead for YourMomCares
  • Who are some of the other celebrity moms they enjoy working with
  • Their favorite projects of their famous children
  • The last concerts they attended
  • Which Hall Of Fame Sharon Feldstein is a member of
  • What Patsy Noah thought of the band Kara’s Flowers
  • Why you should “just show up”
