For the past 8 years, an Israeli-Palestinian NGO called “>Israel Social TV has published an English subtitled version of the 2013 ceremony to start a reflection period about the human victims of violence in Israel/Palestine.
Combatants for Peace has this to say about the event:
On Memorial Day, when private pain coalesces with national mourning, we gather together, Israelis and Palestinians, to remember the victims of violence on both sides and recall that such violence need not be our destiny. It is our task to put an end to it and prevent it taking further victims. At the ceremony, members of bereaved families, Israelis and Palestinians – together with intellectuals and artists – will call on both sides to acknowledge the pain and the hope of those living on the other side of the fence. This is the ninth consecutive year that Combatants for Peace is holding such a ceremony.
