The Shalva Band, made up of eight musicians who have disabilities, gave an emotional performance during Eurovision’s second semi-final competition May 16 when they sang “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman.”
The group, who dropped their bid to represent Israel so they could preform during Shabbat, received a long standing ovation following the performance.
Eurovision tweeted following their performance saying, “Meet Shalva. They’re one the most beloved musical acts in Israel. And it’s not because they inspire us to think differently about challenges and acceptance. We love them for one simple reason – they make incredible music!”
