Rachel Bloom will receive the Life Saver Award from ELEM, a nonprofit aiding youth in distress in Israel, at its Hats off to Heroes virtual gala on Nov. 18. The “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” star and creator, who is currently writing the music and lyrics for a Broadway adaptation of TV’s “The Nanny,” just published “I Want to Be Where the Normal People Are,” a collection of poems and essays.

Israeli actor Tomer Capon (“The Boys,” “Fauda,” “When Heroes Fly”) will host the fundraiser, which will feature performances by singer Diana Golbi and mentalist and illusionist Alex Voz.

ELEM is dedicated to serving young people in Israel who are affected by domestic violence, substance abuse, neglect, bullying, homelessness and prostitution. Tickets for the benefit start at $100. Click here to register.
