“POETICS AND PLAYS”
Actor David Greenspan blends two antithetical texts on theater — Aristotle’s “Poetics” and Gertrude Stein’s “Plays”— for an unlikely one-man show. “LITTLE ROSE”
Following Israel’s victory in the Six-Day War, the Polish communist government joined other Soviet bloc states in launching an “anti-Zionist” campaign. Inspired by a true story, this award-winning film follows Kamila, a beautiful young woman, code name Little Rose, who is ordered by her Polish secret police lover to seduce a professor suspected of Zionist and anti-communist sympathies. A post-screening Q-and-A features faculty members from CSUN’s Jewish studies and history departments. Gershom Gorenberg
