A vegetation fire broke out at the Griffith Observatory on July 10, growing to around 10 acres before being put under control.
The fire started at 2 p.m. about a quarter mile northwest of the observatory, according to the Los Angeles Times. The fire was contained at around 3:30 pm.
No structures were damaged, although the fire did cause damage to some of the vehicles in the area. The observatory was evacuated and shut down for the rest of the day as a cautionary measure.
It is not yet known what caused the fire.
