“WHEN STARS ALIGN”

The Civil War forever changed American society; this play explores the pivotal events of our nation’s history while also introducing a love story. Told through the eyes of Thaddeus, born from the rape of a young slave girl, the show mixes narrative, music and choreography to tell the story of how a Black man and a white girl are determined to be more than just friends in a time when interracial relationships were not allowed. This world premiere is based on the book by Los Angeles author Carole Eglash-Kosoff, and is written and directed by John Henry Davis. 8 p.m. $30 (general); $25 (students and seniors). Odyssey Theatre, 2055 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles. (323) 960-7738. SUN | SEPT 6
