Kissinger calls for Pollard clemency

Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has called for the release of convicted spy Jonathan Pollard. Kissinger sent a letter to President Obama requesting that he commute Pollard\’s sentence to time served. Pollard was a U.S. Navy analyst when he passed classified information to Israel. He has been in prison since 1985.

Obama adviser Jarrett discusses Jewish roots

Valerie Jarrett, President Obama\’s top domestic policy adviser, told a Jewish audience that her great-grandfather was Jewish. \”The Passover seder has a unique lore in my own family,\” Jarrett said Monday while addressing the annual plenum of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, the Jewish public policy umbrella, in Washington.

‘Sing’ festival extols diaspora diversity

“I’m a nonprofessional dreamer,” said singer/composer/producer Craig Taubman, who is in the midst of staging his sixth annual “Let My People Sing,” a 24-hour festival taking place March 11 and 12 at Sinai Temple in West Los Angeles. The event features Jewish performers from around the world and includes music, dance, food and a host of activities.
