‘Friends’ Cast to Reunite for HBO Max Special

The “Friends” cast is getting back together for an unscripted special that will stream on the new HBO Max service in May. Tribe members David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow, plus Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry will return to the show’s original soundstage at the Warner Bros. lot to tape the program.

The special is designed to promote the new subscription service, which is the new home of the entire “Friends” catalog of 236 episodes. HBO Max paid $425 million for the rights to the reruns, which were previously available on Netflix. According to reports, each cast member will receive more than $2 million to take part.
