Hate Israel, Not Jews

It was on full display last year at the global anti-racism conference in Durban, South Africa, but the \”demonization\” of Israel has reached a fever pitch during the past month with the surging death toll in the Middle East, say Jewish observers.

Even as Holocaust Remembrance Day is marked this week, anti-Israel critics worldwide increasingly are employing Nazi and Holocaust imagery and analogies to describe the Jewish state\’s behavior toward the Palestinians.

Stand With Us

\”Tell the truth, don\’t you think we need to create a wall between Israel and the Palestinians?\”

\”Be honest, don\’t you think the United States should send in peacekeeping troops?\”

I\’ll tell the truth. I\’m uncomfortable with American Jews, rising from spiritual slumber to suggest Israeli policy. Especially while their college-age children are in earshot. Especially when there is so much they could do besides yak.

Sir, It’s the Wrong War!

After the invasion of the Balata refugee camp by a regular brigade of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the brigade commander appeared on television and said that he had expected the Palestinians to fight like tigers, but that they behaved like pussycats.

Refuseniks in the Ranks

The \”officers\’ letter\” came out on Jan. 25 in Yediot Aharonot, Israel\’s largest newspaper — 52 reserve army officers declared that they would not serve in the West Bank or Gaza for moral and political reasons.

New Year; Old Problems

For Israel and the Palestinians, 2001 was a year of failure, collapse and escalating violence. Failure of international diplomacy, collapse of mutual trust, violence that claimed 200 Israeli lives and 574 Palestinian.

Moments of Truth

On Sunday, with crews still collecting body parts and shredded flesh after three horrific explosions in Israel, Secretary of State Colin Powell said it is the \”moment of truth\” for Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

Bombers and the Martyr Syndrome

Palestinian suicide bombers killed a total of 28 bus passengers and young people in a four-day orgy of blood and vengeance that stretched from Haifa and Hadera in the North to Jerusalem in the South.
