Police Probe ‘Kill List’ of Local Jews

A 26-year old Orange County man has been arrested after allegedly drawing up  a “kill list” of prominent civic and Hollywood Jews.

Nicholas Wesley Rose, an Irvine resident, was arrested after a member of his family notified police that Rose had made violent threats against Jews  and expressed a desire to kill people.

Police searched Rose’s home and found, in addition to the “kill list,” anti-Semitic literature and a memo outlining a plan of action entitled “killing my first Jew,” the Orange Country Register reported.

Rose, described in some reports as a teacher of English as a Second Language, also referred to a local Greek Orthodox church and a Russian Orthodox church as “being sympathetic to the Jewish cause.”

In a court appearance on April 19, Rosen pleaded not guilty to three felony counts of attempted criminal threats and three misdemeanor counts of civil rights violations.

He is being held on $500,000 bail and if convicted faces up to six years in prison.

According to prosecutor Jeff Moore of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, investigators are checking Roe’s computer and cell phone records  to see if he might have been affiliated with a hate group.

Also under scrutiny are Rose’s written notes, which are rambling and confused, Moore said, adding  “from his writings it’s hard tp tell exactly what direction he was going or who he was angry with.

Moore would not reveal the number or names on the “kill list,” but said all had been alerted of the potential threat by police.
