Leading North American and British Jewish communal professionals have gathered in Israel for workshops on theories of learning.

The four-day Mandel Leadership Institute’s Summer Consultation, focusing on the theme “Learning from Mistakes,” opened Monday in Jerusalem.

Some of Newsweek’s “50 Most Influential Rabbis in America,” Jewish Week’s “36 Under 36” honorees and Avi Chai fellows are attending the third annual consultation.

The professionals also are participating in,peer-review workshops, Jewish text study, a site visit and “open space” time in which participants explore topics of concern in their professional lives.

“We strive to provide sufficient space for participants to set the agenda and to learn from each other’s wisdom and expertise,” said Abi Dauber Sterne, director of the Mandel Jerusalem Fellows program.
