Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters joins boycott movement
Former Pink Floyd front man Roger Waters has officially joined the the campaign of Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions against Israel, and is urging fellow artists to do the same. In a letter posted on the website of the Alternative information Center, Waters said he would continue to wage a boycott campaign against Israel until it ends its occupation of the West Bank and dismantles the security fence, grants full equality to Arab citizens of Israel and allows all Palestinian refugees to return to their homes in Israel.
Pro-Gadhafi forces reportedly strike Zawiyah in bid to regain control
Libyan government forces on Monday struck at rebels in the east of the country and were reported attacking a town near Tripoli, as concern grew over civilian suffering and a growing refugee exodus. The United Nations said more than one million people fleeing Libya and inside the country needed humanitarian aid, and conditions in rebel-held Misrata town were particularly worrying following attacks on it by forces loyal to Muammar Gadhafi.
New footage of 9/11 shows bird’s-eye-view of towers collapsing [VIDEO]
New footage documenting the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York were released on Monday, featuring a 17-minute video filmed by an NYPD officer circling the collapsing towers in a helicopter. According to the American blog The Gothamist, the footage was sent anonymously to the website Cryptome, after it was held up by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
