In honor of the 30th anniversary of the beloved Disney animated film, the Hollywood Bowl plays host this spring to “The Little Mermaid—An Immersive Live-to-Film Concert Experience” on May 17 and 18. The Bowl will also be transformed into the Hollywood Fish Bowl Dive-In Theater as the cast performs songs from the Oscar-winning movie while the film is projected on large screens.

Lea Michele (“Glee”) will be taking on the title role as mermaid Ariel. Tony Winner Harvey Fierstein (“Hairspray”) will channel his inner Edna Turnblad for a spin as Ursula, the sea witch.

The cast, backed by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, also includes Cheech Marin as Chef Louis, Ken Page as Sebastian the crab, Peter Gallagher as Ariel’s father King Triton and Leo Gallo as Prince Eric. Oscar- and Tony-Winning composer Alan Menken will be the special guest on both evenings.

In addition to underwater touches and surprises throughout the night, guests are invited to participate in a Little Mermaid-themed costume contest and special photo opportunities.
