A Moment in Time: “Each Day God Recreates the World”

[additional-authors]

Dear all,

Earlier this week I captured this time lapse of the sunrise. (Accompanying the video is part of a larger piece of music I composed a few years ago).

This particular sunrise gives me pause. I am reminded of a morning prayer (Yotzer Or) which teaches, “In Your goodness You renew the works of creation each day.”

Sigh – there is a lot of darkness our world endures. But every day there is at least one moment in time when we can harness beauty. Sometime we stumble upon it. Sometimes we search for it. But I promise you, those moments are always surrounding us, knocking on our doors.

We can open our eyes.

We can open our ears.

We can open our hearts.

And we will capture the light!

With love and shalom,

Rabbi Zach Shapiro
