Letters to the editor: Israel, Palestine, peace, John Kerry and global warming

Rob Eshman’s piece in this week’s Journal brought to mind a couple of analogies (“The Bright Side,” Feb. 28). The first that occurred to me is all the things I could accomplish if only I had the winning ticket in one of those humongous lotteries. The second is the belief that when the Messiah returns there will be peace in the world.

Marty Kaplan: No news is bad news

If you think the widening chasm between the rich and the rest spells trouble for American democracy, have a look at the growing gulf between the information-rich and -poor.

Letters to the Editor: NSA, Western Wall, Millepied and super grads

Whilst [Marty Kaplan] may be right vis a vis freedom versus security, my main concern is who is minding the minders; absolute power corrupts absolutely (“Dear NSA [NSFW],” June 14). Opinion: The end is nigh. Seriously.

In countless cartoons, there’s a guy in a robe and long beard who’s walking around carrying a sign saying The End Is Nigh. The joke is that he’s ridiculous – some loony who takes the Book of Revelation literally. But what if the joke’s on us?

OPINION: Don’t know much about history

The reason that our financial system isn’t going to crash and burn again, the reason that taxpayers won’t have to fork over another trillion dollars of no-strings-attached bailout money, is – well, I forget.
