Saturday

Making its West Coast debut today at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts is Philadelphia’s Koresh Dance Company. The troupe, headed by choreographer and dancer Ronen Koresh (no relation to the Waco guy), performs a blend of ballet, modern and jazz that is influenced by Koresh’s eclectic resume. Born and raised in Israel, he had early training in Yemenite folk dancing and studied with Martha Graham’s Bat Sheva Dance Company and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

8 p.m. $25-$45. 12700 Center Court Drive, Cerritos. (800) 300-4345.

Sunday

The Palm Springs International Film Festival ends
tomorrow, along with the perfect opportunity to see a wealth of foreign films.

Gene, a Jewish guy whose fiancée leaves him at the altar; and two Israeli films,
“Massa’ot James Be’Eretz Hakodesh,” (“James’ Journey to Jerusalem”), and “Miss

(“Almost Peaceful”), a French film about a little tailor’s shop in post-World
War II Paris. (760) 322-2930.
