Ruth (Rivka) Levy, nee Wallach, died last year on April 22, 2011, at age 88. A truly great soul, she is lovingly remembered on her first yahrzeit.

Ruth was a devoted wife to George, of blessed memory. She was a loving mother to Dr. Miriam Levy and her husband, Paul Epstein; Dr. Daniel Levy and his wife, Susan; David Levy and his wife, Etti; and Rabbi Naomi Levy and her husband, Rob Eshman. She was a proud bubbe to her 11 grandchildren: Jared (Kayo), Ethan (Claire), Lily, Rebecca (Bryan), Sam, Emily, Naamah (Yigal), Lior, Ophir, Adin and Noa. A dear friend to so many, from Brooklyn to Brookline.

Ruth was born in Poland, raised in Boro Park, Brooklyn, and attended Hashomer Hatzair, Camp Kindervelt, New Utrecht High, Brooklyn College and Columbia University. She was a treasured teacher at the Shulamith School, a devoted member of the Flatbush Jewish Center and Congregation Kehillat Israel in Brookline, and a dedicated volunteer at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Boston. She was a woman of wisdom, courage, strength, kindness and love. Her life has ended, but her light continues to shine upon us and illuminates our way.
