Letters to the editor: Israel, Palestine, peace, John Kerry and global warming
Rob Eshman’s piece in this week’s Journal brought to mind a couple of analogies (“The Bright Side,” Feb. 28). The first that occurred to me is all the things I could accomplish if only I had the winning ticket in one of those humongous lotteries. The second is the belief that when the Messiah returns there will be peace in the world.
As Netanyahu arrives in L.A. for show premiere, Israeli consulate’s absence is felt
On the morning that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was due in Los Angeles for the beginning of a three-day trip to California, Israel\’s Foreign Ministry labor union went on strike to protest its wages, shifting management of Netanyahu’s trip, at the last minute, from the local consulate to the Prime Minister’s office.

Mark C. Levy, prominent philanthropist and Jewish leader, died Feb. 18 at 88. Levy was involved with numerous Jewish communal, humanitarian, religious and cultural organizations, including the Skirball Cultural Center, MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, Leo Baeck Temple, Hillel and the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ).
