Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-Nev.), a pro-Israel stalwart, will run for Nevada\’s United States Senate seat. Berkley (D-Nev.), who is seen as the most pro-Israel member of Congress, made her decision Thursday after months of dropping hints, according to a tweet by Jon Ralston, a political reporter for the Las Vegas Sun.

A Jewish group is seeking hate crimes charges against a Toronto-based Muslim website that featured a video address by former U.S. Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke. Duke\’s video was scrubbed April 13 from Casmo.ca, the site for the Canadian Shia Muslim Organization, but the Canadian Jewish Congress is pursuing charges under Canada\’s hate crimes laws.

German companies slammed for planned participation in Tehran oil show

German companies are drawing criticism for their plans to take part in an oil industry trade show in Tehran. Some 60 German companies will attend this weekend\’s event in Tehran, which is dedicated to Iran\’s energy sector, according to the Stop the Bomb nongovernmental organization in Germany. Only China is sending more firms to the show than Germany.

City funding OK for parade including Queers Against Israeli Apartheid, says Toronto official

A decision by Toronto\’s city manager would permit city funding for the Toronto Pride Parade regardless of the participation of Queers Against Israeli Apartheid. The city manager\’s report was in response to a motion put forward last year by the City Council to determine whether city funding for the parade should be withdrawn in 2011 because of Queers Against Israeli Apartheid\’s participation, which some say violates the city\’s anti-discrimination policy.

Goldstone committee members stand by report

Three members of the United Nations fact-finding mission on the Gaza war say they stand by the report. Calls to retract the Goldstone report disregard the rights of the victims, the international law experts said in a statement published Thursday in the British newspaper the Guardian. \”Aspersions cast on the findings of the report cannot be left unchallenged,\” the statement said.
