Karen Hartman’s “Goliath,” set in the Gaza Strip during Israel’s tense 2005 pullout, is part of the two-month First Look Festival of Plays presented by the Open Fist Theatre Company. In “Goliath,” Hartman poses the question of who is David and who is Goliath in the battle over ideals between an American settler, a Palestinian worker, an Ethiopian soldier and an Israeli army commander. The Feel Good Film Festival features 60 films, shorts and Webisodes for adults and children that have positive themes, happy endings, are funny, light-hearted and capture the good in our world. The opening night gala will include a screening of “Rock Slyde” and the closing night ceremony will pay tribute to film and television legend Ed Asner. Other festival happenings include an original song competition, a panel discussion, live musical performances and a yellow carpet entrance — in honor of the Feel Good sunflower logo.
