Make a Barbie-Themed Selfie Frame

It takes a lot less materials than making a giant Barbie box, and everyone will still be able to tell you're a bit "extra."

With the recent release of the “Barbie” movie, people seem to be obsessed with the doll. I’ve even seen some fans create lifesized Barbie packaging to stand inside of for photographs. Wow, that takes commitment.

I decided to do a much simpler version by making a selfie frame you can just hold. It takes a lot less materials than making a giant box, and everyone will still be able to tell you’re a bit “extra.”

Instead of the words “Mattel” and “Barbie” on the frame, I used “Mazel” and “Bubala,” but you can create it with any words that you’d like. There is actually a free Barbie-style font you can download. Just google “Barbie font” and you’ll find it.

What you’ll need:

Cardboard
Scissors or hobby knife
Pink paper
Glue, spray adhesive or glue stick
Words printed out

1. Cut a piece of cardboard to desired size. I made my frame about 20″x24″ because that was the size of cardboard I had.

2. Cut an opening within the cardboard piece so the frame’s top, left and right sides are about three inches wide. At the bottom, create a slant that’s narrower on one side and thicker on the other.

3. Wrap pink paper around the frame. I actually just glued it to the front instead of wrapping it all around.

4. Print the words that will go on the frame and glue them to the front.
