Residents of a nearby Jewish settlement are accused of vandalizing a West Bank Palestinian village.

Stars of David and racist slogans were spray-painted early Wednesday morning throughout Hawara, near Nablus, including on the local mosque. Hundreds of olive trees were uprooted and two cars were set on fire, Haaretz reported.

Residents of the nearby Jewish settlement of Yitzhar have been suspected in other recent attacks on local Palestinians. Villagers attacked two Yitzhar residents with rocks in recent weeks; one suffered a permanent injury.

Israeli soldiers from the Civil Administration erased the graffiti.

The Israeli military condemned the vandalism and launched an investigation into the incident.
