Ivanka Trump, daughter of the president-elect and an adviser to him, tops the Forward 50, the Daily Forward’s annual list of 50 Jews who have impacted American life.
Jay Sanderson, president of The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, made it onto this year’s The Forward 50, an annual list of sometimes unexpected people who the judges believe most helped shape the past Jewish year. The list represents “a snapshot in time, an impressionist picture of the American Jewish story during a given year,” Forward Editor Jane Eisner wrote.
So it should be no surprise that when the New York-based, albeit national, newspaper, The Forward, published its Forward 50 — naming its version of this year\’s most influential Jews — only six hail from Los Angeles. Does it matter where they\’re from?
There are, according to The Forward newspaper\’s recently published \”Forward 50\” — a listing of the 50 most-influential Jews in America — at least seven Angelenos whose voices are being heard way beyond the West Coast.
