SDEROT, ISRAEL – JULY 14: Israeli flares float down over Gaza on July 14, 2014 in Sderot, Israel. ‘Protective Edge’ has entered a seventh day as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue to carry out massive airstrikes across the Gaza Strip with reports suggesting over 166 people have been killed, the majority of whom are civilians. A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip demolished a family home in the southern Israel community of Sderot on Nov. 1.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) tweeted out a picture of the home and noted that the Iron Dome intercepted eight out of the 10 rockets fired from Gaza.

StandWithUs tweeted out a video of the rocket striking the home:

Magen David Adom Paramedic Alex Kosinov told the Jerusalem Post that while the residents of the home were not injured, there was “chaos” ensuing from the strike, as there were “numerous vehicles with shattered windscreens.”

A 65-year-old woman suffered a mild injury from falling while running toward a bomb shelter; five others needed medical treatment for anxiety, according to the Times of Israel (TOI).

On Oct. 31, a Gaza rocket was fired toward southern Israel, prompting the IDF to retaliate with strikes against two Hamas military outposts. The IDF responded to the Nov. 1 rockets with a strike against a Hamas outpost, per TOI.

StandWithUs tweeted, “Once again, entire communities in Israel have to spend their Shabbat in bomb shelters. Once again, innocent Israelis are targeted by terrorists from Gaza. And the world? Silent.”
