Actress Gal Gadot to Get a Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

“Wonder Woman” actress Gal Gadot will become the first Israeli to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2024.

The announcement was made this morning by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Steve Nissen and iHeart Radio Personality Ellen K in a brief live-streamed event. In an Instagram post, Gadot wrote that she is “so thrilled to be a part of the Walk of Fame’s Class of 2024.”

In a video posted on Instagram, Gadot, who will next be seen in “Heart of Stone,” said “I got a phone call from my husband saying the Israeli press have been calling to congratulate him for my Hollywood star and he called to ask about it … And I had absolutely no idea what was going on, so we called my publicist and apparently [gasps] I’m receiving a Hollywood star! This is unbelievable. I’m so, so grateful and thankful and humbled and thank you so much to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for choosing me. This is my Class of 2024! Thank you, thank you, thank you! This brings so much more fuel to the fuel I already have and to continue doing what I love so much doing. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The 38 year-old actress was born in Petah Tikvah, Israel, served in the Israel Defense Forces and won MIss Israel in 2004. Since then, she has become one of the biggest stars in showbusiness today. Her films, which also include “Wonder Woman 1984,” “Fast & Furious,” “Fast Five,” “Fast & Furious 6” and “Fast X” have grossed over $2 billion at the North American box office alone.

In May, Gadot received the Los Angeles Israel Award for Entertainment at an Israel Independence Day event in Beverly Hills, hosted by the Israeli American Council and the Consulate General of Israel in Los Angeles.

In total, there will be 31 new stars to be added to the Walk of Fame in 2024.

Joining Gadot will be her fellow Jewish “Wonder Woman” star Chris Pine. Other Jewish honorees in 2024 include producer Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios), actress Maggie Gyllenhaal (“Crazy Heart”, “The Lost Daughter”), actor Eugene Levy (“SCTV,” “Schitt’s Creek”), producer/writer Michael Schur (“The Office”) and composer Charles Fox (“Happy Days,” “Lavergne & Shirley”).

Two of the stars, for Chadwick Boseman (“Black Panther”) and singer Otis Redding (“Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay”) will be unveiled posthumously.

As of now, there are 2,758 honorees on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, beginning with Jewish filmmaker Stanley Kramer (“Judgment at Nuremberg,” “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World”) on March 28, 1960, near the intersection of Hollywood and Gower. The most recent star added to the Walk of Fame is rapper and film star Tupac Shakur.

The date of the unveiling and the location of Gadot’s star will be announced sometime in 2024.

Boteach to his friend Roseanne: “This is a time for earnestness, not sarcasm”

The media is reporting that my friend Roseanne Barr said on a podcast that no Jews died in the Holocaust. I have not talked with Roseanne. I find it hard to believe that someone who has joined me in fighting antisemitism, and protecting Israel, throughout the world, including in a special trip we took to Israel in 2019 where we spoke before large audiences, would deny the historical fact of six million Jews being murdered in the largest genocide in world history.

The Holocaust is an incontrovertible historical fact. It’s absurd to even have to mention it. The podcast host, Theo Von, tweeted that it was sarcasm: “This Roseanne Barr clip was sarcasm folks. A clip taken out of a long sarcastic rant she had during our chat. Can we not recognize sarcasm anymore?”

Seth Mandel, who heard the podcast, tweeted: “She’s talking about the dangers of censorship and specifically used this example as what could happen if you let, say, YouTube decide what is true and what isn’t.”

Sarcasm and explanations aside, my friend Roseanne needs to personally and immediately clarify her statements, lest they be used by antisemites, Neo-Nazis, BDS Israel haters, and Islamists the world over, to deny the Holocaust.

This is a time for earnestness, not sarcasm. I call on my friend Roseanne to speak the truth she knows all too well, and the sooner the better.

Jeff Jenkins:

I’m excited just to announce that I have a travel adventure show that’s coming out this summer, July 9, 2023, called Never Say Never with Jeff Jenkins, where I travel all over the world doing things outside of my comfort zone. I believe this show is going to be very motivational and inspiring.

I completely agree. What I’ve watched on your incredibly thriving social media, TikTok and Instagram and everywhere, I think you’re right. I think you will inspire so many people that look like you, people that don’t look like you, and I love your quote, that life begins where your comfort zone ends.

That’s it. That’s the whole theme of the show, actually.
