Bus ad for Third Temple yanked

A bus advertisement campaign by an extreme right-wing group calling for the building of the Third Temple has been removed.\n\nThe Our Land of Israel party had put posters on 200 Jerusalem city buses shortly before Passover showing an artist\’s rendition of the Third Temple on the site now occupied by the Al Aksa Mosque and the slogan \”May the Temple be built in our lifetime.\”

Turkey’s Erdogan calls for diplomacy with Iran

Turkey\’s prime minister said diplomacy, not sanctions, is the only way to solve the current crisis over Iran\’s nuclear program.\n\nThe remarks by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in an interview published Tuesday by the French newspaper Le Figaro, come a day after Erdogan said that Turkey would come to the defense of Muslims around the world, according to a report by CNN-Turk.

Activists plan to disrupt Israeli embassy’s opening

Pro-Palestinian activists are mounting a campaign to disrupt the opening of the Israeli Embassy in New Zealand.\n\nThe organization No Israeli Embassy in Wellington was launched last week to oppose the opening this month of an Israeli mission in the capital for the first time since 2002.\n

Israel, South America start trade agreement

A pioneering free-trade agreement between Israel and a bloc of South American countries began operating.\n\nIsrael is the first country outside South America to sign such agreement with Mercosur, a regional bloc that includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, and produces over $3 trillion in Gross Domestic Product. With the agreement, which came into effect Sunday, bilateral trade is expected to increase threefold in the next five years.
