Dear all,
So often I look at my calendar to find back to back (and sometimes overlapping) engagements. Rarely is there a gap.
That said, this morning was our last of a few days of vacation. I looked at my watch, and for the first time, EVER, it told me “No Events Today.”
At first, the reality made me a little nervous. But as I settled in to the fact that at least, for this moment in time, I had no obligations, I began to unwind. (Get it… my watch allowed me to unwind!)
For Jews, Shabbat is our sacred day to unwind as a community. But that doesn’t mean we can also observe a personal day to unwind (even if it is on a Wednesday!)
Find that time. Find that space. And make it holy!
With love and shalom,
Rabbi Zach Shapiro
