REDCAT presents the world premiere of the dance theater work Sugar Houses created by renowned Los Angeles choreographer Rosanna Gamson of Rosanna Gamson/World Wide. Performed by six singer/dancer/actors, Sugar Houses pulls a deconstructed narrative from “Hansel and Gretel,” exploring how the Brothers Grimm tale is really the story of the Great Famine of 1315 – 1317, and the behavior and antisemitism it spawned. The work continues Gamson’s unique and kinetic investigation of ferocious movement.
