“We want to move from defense to offense. We want to be the organization that controls the narrative and controls the conversation,” said Ilan Sinelnikov, president and founder of Students Supporting Israel.
“This is a way to be more competitive, more active, more energetic and more impactful,” said Steve Grossman, who served as AIPAC president from 1992 to 1996.
The two men met twice, discussing everything from a coronavirus booster and the Amtrak train system to the threat the terror groups and an Iran that seems to be headed for a nuclear weapon poses to the Middle East and the world.
“He is an observant Jew; he’s done the job before; he has a quiet competence, even in the face of a lot of noise that comes up from time to time,” said Jarrod Bernstein, who held the liaison’s position in the Obama administration.
The election was seen by Jewish groups on where the voters stand on their support for Israel, with Nina Turner’s alliance with “The Squad,” and previous actions and tweets that were critical of Israel, causing concern among some pro-Israel groups.
