Mitch Miller, museum, singer, record executive and orchestra leader died Saturday, July 31 at 99. Miller was born July 4, 1911 in Rochester, N.Y., and was the son of Russian Jewish immigrants. He is survived by his daughters, Margaret and Andrea; son, Mitchell; brothers, Leon and Joseph; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Arts for All, a program to bring arts education to school districts in Los Angeles County, received $60,000 from the Arts in Schools! Giving Circle, an initiative spearheaded by the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles. The funding for the artist-in-residency program — in dance, music, theater and the visual arts — was presented at the June Arts for All progress report meeting at the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles.
