“Le-Khol Shiraiyikh” (“For All Your Songs”): Celebrating Seven Decades of Israeli Music

In celebration of Israel’s 70th birthday, this program presents an iconic Israeli song for each of Israel’s seven decades, playing the piece, analyzing its text, and discussing its significance for–and wider resonance in–Israeli culture. The seven songs we have selected for inclusion (six in Hebrew, one in Arabic) feature many of Israel’s leading writers and singers, and capture central aspects of its musical heritage.
