John F. Harris and Jim Vandehei wrote those words at the end of an article titled “The Obama Revolution.”
Guns, sure, but considering Proposition 8’s passage and the unholy pandering to Christians and Jews that occurred during the campaign season, I’m not going to get my obit ready for the polilticization of God or gays.
As Donald Wildmon, head of the American Family Foundation, said months ago:
“If we lose California, if they defeat the marriage amendment, I’m afraid that the culture war is over and Christians have lost. I’ve never said that publicly until now — but that’s just the reality of the fact. If the homosexuals are able to defeat the marriage amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman, then the culture war is over and we’ve lost — and gradually, secularism will replace Christianity as the foundation of our society.”
Hemant Mehta, the Friendly Atheist, was awaiting Wildmon’s white-flag surrender. I wouldn’t expect it.
