Camarillo Chabad awarded $625,000 to fight drug abuse

Chabad of Camarillo, located just outside the planned senior community of Leisure Village, is receiving a federal grant of $625,000 to prevent teen drug abuse in Ventura County. It will also be receiving $10,000 in county funds to focus specifically on prescription drug abuse.

This notion of blindness is a common theme in the life of Dennis Brown, a Chasidic Jew and professional counselor in his early 60s who runs the state-certified Ness Counseling Center in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood. He doesn\’t want to talk about specifics but explains by saying he was desperate to pay for his drug habit.

After his 1996 arrest on drug-related charges, a handcuffed John Lehr sat in the back of a squad car, tripping on LSD. \”This kid just stopped and stared at me, and suddenly I saw myself through his eyes,\” said the actor, who hosted the reality show, \”I\’m a Celebrity, Get Me out of Here.\”
