Most of my clients cringe at the first mention of broccoli.Let alone, no matter how many benefits of broccoli I throw their way, unless it has a creamy, sweet texture to it, they will not touch it with a ten foot pole. So, I put my thinking cap on, and created culinary magic by going back to my childhood. Tahini paste was a stape in my home, just as much as hummus, Challah bread, and Shabat dinners.
What is Tahini paste, you ask?It is made from ground sesame seeds, and there are two major kinds of tahini. One hulled and one unhulled. The latter option is best, as it is comes from raw, whole sesame seeds, and is packed with all the nutritional value that your body craves.
Tahini is also rich in minerals such as phosphorus, lecithin, magnesium, potassium, and iron, as well as one of the worlds best source of calcium. As if that is not the cherry on top of the sundae, it is extrememly hihg in vitamin E and vitamin Bs, and contains 20% complete protein, which is more than most nuts combined. Also high in unsaturated fats, which are the friendly fats.
Here is a scrumptious recipe, good-for-you, easy-make recipe to use with Tahini that takes less than five minutes. Even your kids will love this delightful snack, because there is a tangy, sweet flavor bursting out from it.
