Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, her condition upgraded to “good,” has been moved from a hospital to a rehabilitation center.

Giffords (D-Ariz.), who was shot in the head on Jan. 8 while meeting constituents in Tucson, was moved from a Houston hospital Wednesday to the city’s Institute for Rehabilitation and Research. Doctors said her condition was now “good.”

Giffords, accompanied by her husband, Mark Kelly, watched from her hospital Tuesday evening as President Obama sent her best wishes at the outset of his State of the Union address.

Jared Loughner, who was arrested after the shooting, has pleaded not guilty to federal charges. Six people were killed in the attack and 13, including Giffords, were injured.

Giffords is the first Jewish woman elected in Arizonan to federal office.
