Are you missing the homemade pita bread of your childhood? The chicken kebabs spiced with fresh tahini or the deep fried falafel soaked in amba sauce? Bibi’s Kitchen, a new kosher food truck in Encino, promises to bring back these childhood memories with its traditional Mediterranean food.

Shauli Eliyahu opened the truck about five weeks ago and named it after his girlfriend, Jasmine Bibi, who told the Journal that Eliyahu started it it because “he loves to make people happy with his food.”

The menu boasts colorful flavors in its sabich, malabi, and freshly made challah.Out of all the menu options, Bibi  recommends the signature kebab without hesitation. (“A Balanced Diet is a Kebab in each hand,” reads one of the truck’s Instagram posts.)

The restaurant’s sole Yelp reviewer rated it five stars and reemphasized its homey feel by commenting “fantastic service! Feels like you just walked into your uncles kitchen.”

Bibi’s Kitchen is at the intersection of Zelzah Avenue and Ventura Boulevard in Encino (look for the yellow and black food truck) and is open from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. every day, except Saturday.
