ELECTION RESULTS: Jerry Brown projected winner in California governor’s race

Brown_projected_winner Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown is projected to become the next governor of California, based on early returns and exit poll results. With 16% of the state\’s precincts reporting, Brown holds a 49% to 46% lead over Republican Meg Whitman. The Los Angeles Times is projecting Brown as the winner of the race, based on those returns and exit poll results.

Sanity rally: Now that we are all friends, what do we do?

One thing to be said for Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert’s Restore Sanity and/or Fear Rally today in Washington: they didn’t pull the transparent trick that Glenn back did last month with his Restore Honor Rally. Beck, the right-wing talker, used his supposedly non-partisan rally to rather blatantly sling a right-wing political agenda. Notch.

Jews’ view of the pot initiative? Mixed

Marijuana is everywhere. Smokers come from every walk of life — from the college student to the cancer patient, from the wealthy older couple to the heroin addict who started out just smoking weed.
